Do solar panel systems work on cloudy days?

Solar panels do produce electricity on cloudy days.  However, the panels might produce about half as much solar electricity as they would on a clear and sunny day. In California and on average, there are 5.5 hours of Sun everyday year round.

How do I care for my solar panel system?

Solar panel systems are designed for low maintenance and only need to be hosed off about twice a year or during long periods without rain.  Churner Electric is also available for on-going service and maintenance as required. Ask about our solar panel service programs.

Does my house have to face south in order to install a solar panel system?

Solar panel systems do not need to face south; however, systems facing southeast to west can deliver optimal production.  Several factors such as tilt, sun exposure and location also affect energy production.  During a consultation with Churner Electric, we will recommend the best system for your situation.
